The app allows users to check numbers on National Lottery draw-based games and to check if jackpots have been won. All consumers need to do is speak to either Google Home or Amazon Echo ‘Alexa’ devices and the technology will respond to commands such as “What’s tonight’s Lotto jackpot?” or “What were last night’s EuroMillions’ numbers?”
Dermot Griffin, CEO of the National Lottery said "it is thought that one in five web searches will be done by voice by the year 2020". National Lottery is played in house holds world wide and to ensure the brand acknowledges this along with changing consumer habits, wanted to stay ahead of the curve with a technology first for the brand and the market sector.
To support the launch of the Voice Assistant, creative needed to reflect its function and purpose. To do this we looked at utilising social channels (Facebook and Instagram Stories), YouTube bumpers and YouTube master takeover, along with National radio spots. We made the Voice the true hero of the creative work.
